**Adjunct Instructor**
Instruction Utqiagvik, Alaska Compensation **$1,000 - $1,500 per credit** **LOCATION:** Utqia?vik, Alaska and Available Remotely
**DEPARTMENT:** Academic Affairs
**REPORTS TO:** Dean of Academic Affairs
**WORK SCHEDULE:** Varied
**COMPENSATION:** $1,000 - $1,500 per credit

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:**
* Teaches one or more courses within the Academic Affairs Program (no more than 7.5 credits per semester)
* Prepares and maintains updated instructional materials, course outlines, and curriculum.
* Develops and submits current syllabus, using the college template.
* Prepares administrative documents, such as student withdrawals and attendance.
* Evaluates student performance and submits grades to the registrar.
* Maintain office hours (in-person, telephonically, or online).
* Participates in professional development as necessary to be proficient in the colleges current technologies and learning platform.
* Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
* Demonstrated professional and/or teaching experience in the subject area.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
* Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
* Demonstrated teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
* Demonstrated experience in curriculum development.
* Demonstrated experience with distance delivery.
* Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
* Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: post-secondary educational work experience; North Slope Borough [NSB] institutions and organizations; Iupiat culture, language, values, and traditions.
* Ability to interpret and represent College actions and Western institutions to the NSB community.
**EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Required]:**
* Bachelors or Masters degree in the area of instruction or related field.
**EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Preferred]:**
* Doctorate degree or equivalent in the area of instruction.
