Summary of Job Duties:
The Monitor Technician is a trained member of the nursing team within the Telemetry department. Monitor Technicians provide 24/7 telemetry monitoring and observation for inpatients from all disciplines throughout the hospital. The Telemetry department strives to maintain the most updated evidence-based practices and equipment needed to facilitate our goals. Monitor Technicians are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team approach we implement at UAMS.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma/GED, PLUS Six (6) months direct patient care related experience.
* Current certification or competency of EKG acquisition.
* Must have excellent communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified as a nursing assistant or military corpsman.
* Current BLS.
* Certification in EKG or Dysrhythmia course.
* Microsoft Office experience.
* EPIC EMR.
* Kronos.
