Store Manager Location: Brooklyn Job Description General Assembly is a Brooklyn-based full-service interior architecture and custom product design studio helmed by partners Sarah Zames and Colin Stief. The name General Assembly refers to the joining of people, objects, and materials that go into creating a space. Founded in 2011, General Assemblys breadth has expanded to include projects from the Hamptons to London. Through the years, our work has received international attention including features in The New York Times, T Magazine, Architectural Digest, and Elle Decor.
This fall, General Assembly is thrilled to announce the opening of Assembly Line, a brick and mortar store focused on home improvement sourcing, located in Brooklyns Boerum Hill neighborhood and set to open by the end of 2021. The store will offer a collection of furniture, lighting, and decor items from the studios favorite designers as well as a selection of some of the highest quality materials and finishes one might need when undertaking a home renovation, big or small.
Assembly Line is seeking a Store Manager for immediate hire to be trained and to help us prepare leading up to the stores opening.
Job Requirements Sales Responsibilities:
- Strategize with owner to achieve weekly and monthly sales goals.
- Maintain knowledge about all design partners and products featured in store. This includes but is not limited to furniture price quotes, lead times, appropriate shipping and delivery options, stock availability. Liaison between design partners to keep stock of samples and product packages.
- Schedule furniture deliveries with designated delivery services & customers.
- Conduct orders and manage inventory via Shopify.
- Function as Buyer - work with owner to maintain stock levels on staple inventory and present customer requests, as well as suggestions for new product, create floor plans & put together fabrics and furniture for the seasons ahead, place orders for all made to order furniture for customers & stock for floor.
Customer Service Responsibilities:
- Serve as the point person for customer communication and feedback. Help customers in store, on the phone, and online.
- Ensuring customer service support for in-store and website. Keep a list of all customer service issues/web damages that are occurring during shipping.
Day-to-day Operating Responsibilities:
- Placing orders and management of purchase order entry.
- Ensuring the store has supplies needed.
- Oversee inventory management, keeping back stock and samples well organized.
- Intake requests from customers interested in design consultation services offered on the website. Schedule appointments with the owner.
Digital Marketing Responsibilities:
- Plan content for social media posts including weekly Instagram posts and monthly or bi-monthly newsletters.
- Upload new web images and copy.
- Maintain knowledge of new merchandise and strategize how to promote it through social media.
- Event & Partnerships - work with the team on the production of punctual in-store and online events/campaigns such as trade events, collection launches, holiday promotions, etc.
