Salesforce is seeking a highly experienced, dynamic, marketing operations and strategy executive to lead a team responsible for analyzing and optimizing the work of a large, complex, global field marketing team that supports a high-performing global sales team.
The VP, Strategy, Operations and Performance for Global Field Marketing (GFM) will be a key leader in developing the strategic plan for this diverse and complex team carrying out the appropriate analysis and planning to create the right go-to-market initiatives from inception to measurement, including across multiple channels to enable us to double-down on the highest performing programs quickly.
The position is based in the US with responsibilities for global inspection, analysis and reporting across a subset of product lines, marketing tactics, and alignment with regional marketing leads across the team globally.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This highly visible role will report directly to the EVP of Global Field Marketing (GFM) and will collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to effectively conceive, plan, and measure our end-to-end field marketing and pipeline strategy. This marketing leader will be responsible for the multi-million dollar budget, Headcount, Strategy, Attribution, Reporting, Analytics and ROI metrics across the marketing organization.
As Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Operations for the Global Field Marketing team, you would be working on:
Effectively serve as a Chief of Staff or an executive-level business operator to support the EVP of Global Field Marketing
Support the EVP on complex initiatives that require significant strategy & analysis, including tasks that span multiple global functions. Work with high efficiency and organization to prioritize and streamline initiatives
Lead a team of business partners aligned to global field marketing leadership
Strategy and Planning: Partner with the Central Planning, Sales Operations and EVP to define multi-year global field marketing strategy
Lead annual and quarterly business planning, defining marketing programs in collaboration with Product Marketing and Brand teams, facilitating global target setting and prioritization, as well as marketing headcount planning and budget allocation
Drive organizational structure: partner with leadership to define optimal resourcing, ways of working and alignment with key partners, defining the team structure to support
Develop and drive the Rhythm of the Business motions: determine the most effective way to report on the key metrics, goals and budget within the team, and with our marketing,sales and finance partners. Own the cadence and content for key meetings with Sales Operations and ensure that the analytics team are continually refreshing data and insights for these meetings.
Marketing Performance: Lead the shared services team responsible for measuring and supporting the optimization of marketing impact to the business, supporting an effective interlock across Marketing and SalesOwn marketing attribution strategy educating the business on marketing and pipeline management: Educate the business in how marketing spend and activities accurately drive impact and return on investment via attribution models
Understand deeply business metrics and develop analytics dashboards and reporting mechanisms to optimize campaigns and field marketing programs: Arm the marketing organization with the data and analytics tools to invest in most efficient and impactful campaigns. This includes leading a data analytics team and working closely with the central data science team.
Align with Sales Operations on go-to-market strategy and progress to targets: Develop and monitor demand generation and pipeline progression goals both for net new logo acquisition and expansion
Maximize the operational efficiency of marketing organization through processes and tools: Evaluate and evolve program and tactic performance as business needs evolve and develop data strategies to improve targeting and performance of GFM programs
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
15+ years marketing experience in a role supporting complex marketing organizations with multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, direct mail, print, online, social media)
10+ years experience driving demand and pipeline, managing marketing budgets and optimizing spend across tactics with solid background in forecasting results
High energy and the ability to manage multiple initiatives, working well under pressure in a high growth environment that is constantly changing
Strategic and analytical thinker who is able to be an agent for change: Experience of managing change and ambiguity, taking ownership and creating structure.
A sense of urgency: Ability to successfully operate in a fast paced dynamic environment experiencing growth and expansion, a strong bias for action, testing and innovating. Track record for delivering under tight deadlines
A strategic mindset: Ability to think strategically, crisply synthesizing market research and competitive intelligence and articulating that into a winning go-to-market strategy blend technology and business strategy to develop compelling vision and strategy for driving marketing programs to growth businesses

Think Strategically and Tactically - long term vision with natural ability to change course depending upon needs of the business and a deep understanding of marketing tactics
Know your Business - seek to deeply understand the business metrics, key data and ensuring the team understands how/when/where to use the data
Exemplary collaboration & Executive Communication skills - must be able to work with global sales operations and analytics teams and report to management on key business opportunities or insights
