**Area Leader , Retail Shops**

Our Area Leader leads a collection of Tuft & Needle retail shops with each Shop Leader reporting directly to you. You will report to the Director of US Retail and will work with HQ business partners to develop and execute strategies aimed at delivering highly successful shops and world-class customer experience. The majority of your time will be spent in shops leading with integrity, quality and transparency while working alongside your teams as you coach, develop and inspire them to deliver strong sales and business results. You will enhance the effectiveness and success of our greatest asset, our talented people.

The ideal candidate is excited about leading through ambiguity and building upon our success as we bring the Tuft & Needle premium sleep and wellness experience to a broader national footprint.
**Role & Responsibilities:**
* Develop & execute company aligned performance strategies for your area & cascade for each retail shop to achieve all sales, KPI, payroll, shop expense, and profitability goals.
* Deliver strong P&L performance by developing shop leaders relative business acumen.
* Partner with Director of US Retail to develop localized investment plans to drive qualified traffic into your area retail shops.
* Partner with Director of US Retail to craft and execute cause marketing program(s) at the local level that are intended to build hometown hero-ship for the brand and awareness of local shops.
* Drive YOY comp growth & achieve all budgetary targets, increasing customer lifetime value.
* Model and cultivate an exceptional customer experience in all retail shops by assessing performance and utilizing all customer feedback via NPS, Google Business and Yelp.
* Support the rollout and continuous improvement of personalized clienteling, driving a world-class customer experience.
* Benchmark our business, monitor our competitors & industry trends as it relates to the shopping experience and provide feedback to the Director of US Retail and HQ business partners to drive relevant pre-emptive and responsive action.
* Inspect and train/develop teams to ensure efficient & consistent shop operations while minimizing loss and maintaining a safe workplace.
* Partner with shop leaders to hire and train top talent in a systematic and proactive manner to maintain optimized staffing and appropriate staffing during all operating hours.
* Analyze shop performance and work with appropriate teams at HQ to develop appropriate continuous developmental learning for each shop team.
* Ensure compliance and adherence to T&N policies & procedures and all company directives.
**Leadership Competencies:**
* Lead by example with consistent and effective planning & communication in alignment with HQ to shop teams in order to yield knowledgeable and well informed employees.
* Strong ability to evaluate current shop performance based on available data and observations and work with shop leaders to develop shop specific, performance-driven plans that address opportunities for enhancement and growth.
* Ensure shop leaders deliver flawless execution across your area to deliver on all shared and site specific business goals and objectives.
* Lead your teams with a healthy balance of accountability and shared recognition for a job well done.
* Cultivate a collaborative & positive work environment aligned with our company values.
* Develop strong employee engagement and champion our company culture within each shop.
**What you bring to Tuft and Needle:**
* Ideal candidate will have 5+ years in a customer facing retail or service industry environment.
* Ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in multi-unit retail or related multi-unit field leadership.
* Ability to effectively lead and facilitate growth in both a virtual and in-person capacity.
* Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals.
* Experience building strategies to drive KPI performance to yield operational and financial success.
* Strong analytic background with an ability to manage and share data.
* Ability to lead through ambiguity while creating focus and alignment towards all business objectives.
**Job Specification**
* Remote based position with regular travel to shop locations and occasional travel to meetings as required.
