Engineering Installation Technician 1
Position Summary:
KBR is seeking an Engineering Installation Technician 1 to support the United States Space Force's (USSF) Satellite Control Network (SCN) in Colorado Springs. The SCN provides highly reliable and secure data transfer, telemetry, tracking, command, control, and communications (TT&C3) for more than 195 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil, and allied satellites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with performing research, building prototypes, inspecting products, ensuring sites are safe and clean, providing customer support, and reporting to the supervising Engineer. Performs a variety of in-depth technical functions required in the maintenance and repair of satellite tracking equipment and systems. You should be able to troubleshoot, replace components, wiring circuits, repair electronic equipment, and take test readings using common test instruments. Demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering terminology and be able to work well in a team environment. Self-starters with an insatiable curiosity, a superb work ethic, and strong interpersonal skills.
Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
Requires knowledge of basic electrical and electronic principles as they pertain to satellite tracking systems and equipment installed at facilities.
Analyzing system operations and offering suggestions for improvement.
Inspecting inventory and reordering materials and technical components.
Running tests, diagnostics/calibrations, and troubleshooting equipment after installation.
Using CAD software to develop designs and implement feedback from Engineers.
Conducting research, collecting data, and writing daily reports.
Work with engineers to design, build, and test solutions to a variety of technical problems.
Establish and maintain a high degree of professional working relationships with customers.
Support the Site Support Integration (SSI) to bridge operations, logistics, maintenance, and sustainment activities.
Ability to read/interpret schematics, system interconnects drawings utilizing Technical Orders.
Familiar with test equipment such as: Analog/digital multi-meter, O-Scope, network analyzer, protocol analyzer, signal generators, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR).
Knowledge and understanding of how to utilize hand tools, drills, socket wrenches, pliers, civil engineering type tools/techniques-fork lift, cranes, booms, and man-lifts.
Possess an electronics background in Analog/Digital and Radio Frequency (RF) theory.
Provides the necessary technical support to projects to meet modification and sustainment objectives with regards to site activity planning and execution.
Ability to provide in-depth technical assistance to other technicians when called upon to assist in corrective maintenance and restoration activities.
A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
High School diploma with 1-year related experience .
The technician should have experience installing or maintaining equipment, to include video systems, rack systems, cabling (coaxial, ethernet, fiber) and soldering techniques.
Preferred Certifications: Fiber Optic Installer, IPC/WHMA-A-620 Cable and Wire Harness.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
