Our Boston, MA office is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 15 years experience for our Transportation and Infrastructure Division in our Boston Office. Successful candidates must possess a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited electrical engineering university and be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed multiple MEP projects for which he was the responsible engineer and which showcase his skills with energy and load calculation software, specification/report writing, and other electrical engineering tasks. Skills with Revit are a plus. Strong computer skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Key responsibilities will include being the responsible lead, in the planning, including development of proposal and budget estimates, design and post design of electrical systems for facilities projects for a broad client base. We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities; municipal buildings such as public work facilities; and light commercial / retail. Other potential projects also include correctional facilities, convention centers, maintenance facilities, public health, and higher education buildings. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the design Revit and Auto CAD efforts for the projects he leads. Also, assisting other senior electrical staff on their projects as required. The mentoring and supervision of junior electrical engineers and engineering specialist assigned to his projects is a must.
Successful candidate has the opportunity to become the chief electrical engineer of the group as well as involvement in project management.
Day to Day Duties:
Works take the lead on his/her own project under the review and supervision of the current chief electrical engineer to perform the following project related efforts:
Lighting
Short-circuit analyses
Protective device coordination studies
Arc Flash Analysis
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 15 years minimum relevant experience as an electrical engineering.
Registration: Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Massachusetts and have the ability to obtain future and maintain PE licensure in other States.
