**Key Responsibilities:**
* Take a customer-first approach and gain a deep and expansive understanding of our audience, to constantly refine and articulate our consumer journey and retail experience.
* Act as a data driven leader setting and providing ongoing reporting of KPIs, metrics and ROI, translating this data to actionable insights and iterating as needed.
* Develop and implement operational strategies and programs to deliver against our retail goals.
* Monitor financial results, assess factors impacting performance and take appropriate actions to achieve annual operating plan
* Responsible for developing and managing opening and operating plans for new locations and remodels to deliver financial targets, operational performance and an improved customer experience
* Responsible for delivering an in-store experience to drive traffic, comp sales and customer loyalty
* Understand competitive landscape and industry trends. Develop innovative retail approaches that provide a premium customer experience and meet our financial and operational goals to be competitive in a dynamic environment.
* Monitor each retail location's inventory, staffing, and other operational aspects to optimize store performance.
* Manage store opening, expansion, relocation and processes to ensure consistent execution.
* Ensure locations are operating efficiently to maximize financial performance and to deliver a superior customer experience across all our partnerships, consistent with brand standards.
* Identify and implement best practices for customer experience, sales, store appearance, staffing, inventory management and financial controls.
* Develops programs to include training strategies, content development, deployment and training systems for both company and partner dispensary teams.
* Ensures compliance with company policies and with federal, state, and local regulations that impact daily retail business operations.
* Attract and retain great talent and develop robust succession plans to enable growth and scalability.
* Provide continuous feedback, coaching and development to retail operations team.
* Inspire and motivate the retail team, internal and partner-operated, to achieve high performance.
* Cultivate a positive and values-based culture that inspires, develops and recognizes commitment to quality, customer focus, and a drive for results that delivers a world-class customer and employee experience.
* Partner with HR to lead performance management for retail employees and continuously improve competencies, training, feedback, and development tools.
* Provide clear communication to all management team members with regard to standards, operational functions and expectations for high performance.
* Other duties and projects as encountered and/or directed.
**You have:**
* A minimum of 10-15 years of operations leadership experience in the retail industry with a strong operating company; significant multi-unit experience required.
* Significant experience in a fast-paced environment, proven success in scaling processes, systems and people to meet rigorous company growth objectives.
* Experience in creating a unique customer value proposition, attracting, engaging and retaining customers through unique in-store experiences.
* Depth of experience in field operations in a highly customer-centric and competitive environment.
* Decisive and tough minded, willing to address difficult issues promptly and directly. Able to take a stance, but be open minded and willing to defer or adjust as appropriate.
* A creative and conceptual thinker, not afraid to challenge the status quo and take risks.
* Strong and genuine customer focus. Anticipates customer needs and takes action to meet them; continually searches for ways to increase customer satisfaction and improve the retail experience.
* Embraces challenges as opportunities.
* Is willing to have tough conversations when warranted.
* Demonstrates excellent judgment under pressure whether it be during a store opening or leading an executive meeting.
* Brings positivity, creativity and solutions to the business and our retail stores
* A true operator with the ability to develop credibility and relationships across all levels of the organization, our partner network, and retail employees.
* Demonstrated capability in evaluating process and improving operational efficiencies, resulting in higher quality service delivery while navigating complex partner relationships.
* Experience planning sales, margin, inventory management and driving bottom line profit for a multi-unit chain.
* Successful in negotiating and/or influencing across all levels and building cross-functional partnerships in order to gain buy-in and cooperation to successfully implement projects.
* Proven leadership abilities, including ability to think strategically, develop operational strategies and determine long-term impact of decisions on the business.
* Excellent verbal & written communication and advanced presentation skills.
* Effective change management skills; able to identify new approaches & solutions and create the necessary processes to effectively implement alternative strategies and ways of working.
* BS or advanced degree is preferred.
* Willingness to travel extensively (about 30%) and work across a variety of time zones.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize with urgency within a fast-paced environment with often competing priorities.
* Highly analytical with advanced Microsoft Office and G-suite knowledge and experience.

This is a full-time position with the ability to work remotely. While our team and company-operated retail locations are primarily located in California, we are open to all candidates able to travel frequently and work west coast business hours.
