Job Description:
**ABOUT**
The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four civil/vertical construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, vertical construction, site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States.
**GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY**
The Office Engineer Intern is responsible for organizing and reviewing reports, scheduling equipment and material delivery, and coordinating with a project team. This position requires an understanding and adherence to the AIS Infrastructure safety standards, and the ability to collaborate with a team for each stage of the construction process.
**MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
Assist in field management of construction project. This includes but is not limited to:
+ Review contract and specifications in its entirety
+ Assist Project Manager, Project Superintendent and Project Engineer as required
+ Assist with all schedule preparations and updates
+ Assist with quantity reporting, project costs and forecasting
+ Obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors to include charge orders
+ Requisition equipment and material deliveries as required
+ Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to resolve project challenges and conflicts
+ Assist with monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processing
+ Manage document control to include submittal schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, etc.
+ Review **_Heavy Job_** daily reports for accuracy
+ Prepare and maintain technical submittal list, NPDES permits, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Project Progress Schedule as required
+ Comply with notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint measurements with owner and/or engineer, utility locations and adjustments, testing, claims, etc.
+ Issue correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plan and/or specifications affects products or services
+ Assist with project closeout
+ Perform additional assignment's per the Project Manager's direction
**EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
+ Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
+ Pursing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, preferred
+ Presentation and negotiation skills
+ Action oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
+ Willingness and ability to travel.
+ Positive attitude
+ Computer skills with experience with Microsoft Office.
