Warehouse Assistant

**Role**
The Warehouse Assistant (Shipping/Receiving) performs physical and clerical tasks associated with shipment and reception of supplies and finished products. The Warehouse Assistant position reports to the Logistics Manager and is located in Pinconning, Michigan.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Receive incoming materials, products or supplies;
Unpack received goods and check for damage and accuracy of shipment;
Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders;
Verify shipping records and correct packaging and labeling;
Move material and stock, adjust inventory as needed;
Reconcile packing slip to items received and record any discrepancies;
Work with Buyer and Supplies concerning discrepancies;
Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials;
Release Production Order Packets for picking;
Review parts remaining after machine build with purchasing and engineering teams;
Generate shortage reports after project is kitted;
Process customer returns and consignment orders;
Audit temporary storage locations weekly;
Process vendor returns and subcontract deliveries;
Maintain integrity of production order storage bins;
Assist Shipping Specialist as needed.
Requirements **Qualifications and Work Experience**
High School Diploma or GED and/or ten (10)+ years of direct work experience without formal education;
Position typically expects one (1) to three (3) of direct/relevant experience based on scope of position;
SAP experience a plus;
Forklift operator;
Ability to lift objects up to 100 lbs.;
Works under moderate supervision;
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job;
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the organization;
Must have a positive attitude and foster a continuous improvement environment;
Ability to multitask;
Maintain composure in a fast-paced, stressful environment;
Ability to demonstrate proficiency with PCs.
