Quality Control Inspector
Overview
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing daily inspections on telecommunications installations & service appointments to identify substandard or incorrectly installed equipment and services. Inspections will be performed utilizing quality control checklists. Deficiencies and deviations are reported by the Quality Control Inspector to the installations technicians direct supervisor for further action, correction or acceptance.
To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of fiber optic technology and be familiar with industry standards and regulations. You must have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with installation teams and other stakeholders. Additionally, being familiar with testing equipment and tools used in fiber optic inspections is essential.

Job Status: Exempt
Responsibilities:
Inspections of fiber installations for new and existing FTTH customers including (all aspects of fiber installation service and repair.
Inspections will include on-site visits after work has been completed and/or while the job is being completed in real time.
Collaborating with installation teams to address and resolve any quality issues or non-compliance with standards.
Providing recommendations and suggestions for improving the quality and efficiency of fiber optic installations.
Maintaining detailed records and documentation of inspections, test results, and any corrective actions taken.
Creating and sending reports detailing positives and negatives of each job performed to the supervisors for review.
Work closely with direct supervisors of technicians to ensure observations, corrective actions and acceptance actions are communicated.
Create monthly reports documenting inspection efforts and Quality scores. This should be sliceable by technician, job type and issue.
Staying updated on the latest industry standards and best practices related to fiber optic installations.
Develop and maintain detailed inspection checklists and review forms.
Qualifications
? 3 years of telecom industry field experience required
? High school diploma or GED equivalent required; post-high school education a plus
? Minimum 18 years of age
? Valid state drivers license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Surf Internet's Company Vehicle Policy
? Excellent customer service, time management, and decision-making skills
? Working knowledge of PC and Google Docs products
? Self-motivated; ability to work independently with limited supervision to complete tasks, respond to department requests, collaborate with others to utilize resources, and apply knowledge to identify quality solutions
? Ability to interact and communicate appropriate information to customers and team members in a professional manner
? Ability to effectively maintain professional appearance and demeanor in a variety of work environments
? Ability to work required shifts and overtime (as necessary)
? Ability to travel more than 90% of the time. This includes extended travel to other states for up to a week at a time.
