**Description**
1. Develops new procedures through conducting molecular, biochemical and cell biology analyses which may include, e.g., performing transcriptomic-based experiments [starting from study design] and from RNA through probe generation through data acquisition through to bioinformatics analyses and confirm some predetermined number of gene targets using real-time RT-PCR; clinical sample procurement and analysis; tissue or blood analyze determinations; animal model research; and other duties.
2. Maintains databases of all data obtained so as to enable regular data mining of the expanding database for particular diets and their effects.
3. Maintains equipment use and function in the areas of cell culture, "omics technologies, real-time PCR systems, bio-analyzers, Bio-Plex, etc.
4. Works to develop research projects related to the mission of the ACNC, design experiments, conduct the experiments, analyze samples, calculate the results, organize the data, present data at local, national and international meetings as well as write manuscripts.
5. Assists in the coordination of lab personnel efforts working closely with others to insure proper procedures are carried out.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
