The Executive Director has overall responsibility for the strategic planning, administration, and operations of the organization. Key duties include overseeing the organization s fundraising, marketing, and sales efforts. The Executive Director works in collaboration with the Artistic Director and reports directly to the Board of Directors.Description POSITION TITLE: Executive DirectorLOCATION: Whitefish, MTPOSITION STATUS: Full-Time (40 hrs/week)REPORTS TO: Board of DirectorsSALARY: $70,000POSITION SUMMARYThe Executive Director has overall responsibility for the strategic planning, administration, and operations of the organization. The Executive Director works in collaboration with the Artistic Director and reports directly to the Board of Directors.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSSet annual Development goals with Board of DirectorsCreate fundraising strategies with Board of Directors & staffManage a portfolio of donor, sponsor, & foundational prospects. This includes identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects and donors.Serve as primary contact with donors, sponsors, and foundationsSubmit RFPs for, hire, and oversee fundraising contract helpMaintain organizational databaseOversee gift receipts and gift recognition as well as donor & sponsor benefitsAdministrative/OperationsWith Board of Directors and Artistic Director, create strategic plan for the organizationCreate annual operational/administrative budgetCreate organizational policies and workflowsServe as primary liaison with Board of DirectorsPresent monthly reports to the Board of DirectorsOversee adherence to annual budget & bookkeepingSubmit RFPs for marketing, sales, front of house, and fundraising contractorsHire and supervise all marketing, sales, front of house, and fundraising contractorsPrepare & sign contracts, including licensing agreementsServe as primary contact for all vendorsOversee housing & travel arrangements for visiting artists & staffMaintain files and recordsSet annual sales goals with Board & staffCreate marketing strategies to achieve goals with Board & Artistic DirectorSubmit RFPs for, hire, and oversee marketing & sales contract helpSupervise Front of House and box office operations, staff, and/or volunteersCommunity OutreachServe as company representative for media & public functionsAttend media calls as requiredServe as liaison between ATP and other civic organizationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor s Degree from accredited college or university or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 5-years experience with professional theatre management and/or nonprofit managementExperience in managing annual budgets KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESRecognized expertise in nonprofit managementAbility to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to work effectively with Board of Directors, stakeholders and partnersAbility to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees, management, and general publicKnowledge of performance nonprofit processes including budgeting and complianceExcellent communication skills with staff and with representatives from all the company's key stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to prioritize conflicting workloadsAbility to brainstorm and offer ideas and possible solutions to operational challenges and opportunitiesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 10-15 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
