The primary function of the HSC is to coordinate all aspects of support for South County Habitat for Humanity's (SCHH) homeownership program applicants, RampUp RI applicants and existing SCHH homeowners. Primary duties include outreach, recruitment, on-boarding, and post-purchase support.
Essential Recruitment, Duties & Responsibilities:
* Be the point of contact for prospective program applicants
* Hold events and actively recruit prospective applicants
* Work with local employers and businesses to ensure their employees are aware of SCHH homeownership opportunities
Essential Intake and Lending Duties & Responsibilities:
* Maintain required Habitat for Humanity International and Rhode Island certifications for lending and application processing
* Process all applications in accordance with all applicable laws and fair housing regulations
* Maintain all homeownership program files
* Work with the Executive Director to collect required information for funders and lenders from applicants
Essential Support Duties & Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement pre-purchase education programs
* Develop and implement post-purchase education and support programs for SCHH homeowners
Other Responsibilities:
* Develop metrics to track homebuyer successes and challenges
* Work with the Executive Director to advocate for changes to affordable housing programs
* Establish and maintain partnerships with local basic needs networks, including attending meetings as needed
* Be familiar with other agencies and their programming to best direct those needing assistance outside of SCHH's scope
Qualifications
* Overview: Welcoming manner, intelligent oversight, ability to work under pressure, enjoys working with others, and passion for Habitat for Humanity and its Partners
* Education: Associates degree
* Professional experience: Previous employment or volunteer experience in a non-profit environment preferred. Experience in lending or social services is helpful
* Communication skills: Ability to write clearly; excellent interpersonal skills, bilingual candidates preferred.
* Math & Computer skills: Ability to manage database, email, excel
* Reasoning abilities: Ability to work through problems independently and with others, ability to prioritize, and ability to multitask
