We have a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our brilliant team as a Housing Management Worker. We support our customers who live independently in our Bowes Lyon sheltered accommodation, which comprises of 29 self-contained apartments and 8 bungalows, with communal areas, including a lounge, laundry, kitchen & guest room.
We help our customers by focussing on tenancy support, rent accounts, and helping to reduce social isolation. You'll support our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure these are received on their rent account.
You'll also play a vital role in filling voids quickly to ensure the service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are also health and safety compliant.

About you
You're passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You'll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You'll have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.
As our Housing Management Worker you'll support letting and re-letting rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. You're great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
It would be amazing if you've had a job in this type of environment before, however it's your "can do" positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here.
As this is a community-based job, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don't worry, we'll pay you expenses to cover this use!
When you join as a Housing Management Worker, you'll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don't have a transferrable one.
Working hours
You'll work between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you.
About our team
You'll work alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us, we are not just a team we're a 'work family'. Our managers are Karen and Rachel, who have between them 18 years' of experience with Home Group.
There is a total of 18 of us in the team and we don't just love to support our customers, we're there for each other too. Although you're lone working at the scheme, you'll have regular contact with Janette our support coordinator, and the rest of the team too.
